Reading this, I think you have not only patience but also strength. I say that because I have a friend who experiences anxiety in social situation and sometimes wonder how he can handle that.

I think my patience is more a product of my will to suppress my anxiety than anything else. When I get overly tense, my brain and my body I start to malfunction which puts me in a downward spiral. By having worked at that patience I can ‘force’ myself to level out. I attribute this to my patience for I know I can wait out my anxiety to get to the point where I can level myself out. Different case if it’s depression though. If your friend also has this kind of patience I think it is likely that he will be able to ‘force’ himself to cope.

He’s strong enough right now but he doesn’t have the patience. I’m worried about him sometimes since he also has depression.

I don’t think everyone needs the patience. If he is strong enough to fight it then it is probably even better for him than being able to wait it out.
