A response to the Daily Post’s Daily Prompt: Karma Chameleon
Reincarnation: do you believe in it?
No. Not reincarnation of the body anyway. I am confident in the existence of the physical realm in which we all live but that which is called mind or spirit I cannot say.
I believe that we are all made up of these tiny little particles of energy. This energy is in the physical form of matter, we are creatures made up of atoms. Those atoms were forged in the beating heart of stars that originated billions upon billions of light years away. Our atoms have collided with innumerable amounts of others, some like them, others not like them. Human, star, rock, paper, dog, cat, elephant, Earth, Jupiter, Mars. We are all made out of the same basic materials. As the great man, Carl Sagan said, “we are made of star stuff.”
Our atoms, they are not just our atoms. We are the universe incarnate looking out at the vastness and trying to comprehend the sheer size of it all but failing miserably to actually understand it. We have been recycled by the universe countless times and will carry on being reconstituted until the death of the universe itself.
I do not believe in reincarnation. But I do believe that we are all left over bits of galactic foliage, reconstituted, as humans.
